Incredible Yellowstone National Park......21st/22nd June....

We actually went up into Yellowstone NP on our last day at The Grand Tetons as the campsite was only  a couple of miles from the south entrance........we had heard that there was a nice waterfall a couple of miles inside the park and you know us suckers for waterfalls....
Moose Falls just a short way from the pull-out....good falls but we were caught by surprise as there were a large amount of mosquitoes, we will be coating up with Skin So Soft from here in...
Next day and on the road, 191 N from The Tetons to West Yellowstone through The Park and once more at the Continental Divide...
The road goes through the Geyser Basin.....a convenient pull-out for out lunch sandwiches and a first glimpse of this incredible landscape..
Aptly named Firehole River.......
We arrive at Hideaway RV Park, West Yellowstone, with time to spare to take the truck to the car wash and jet wash off the thick layers of mud acquired at the last campsite.....this one is delightful,  lovely camp hosts, on the edge of town and just a mile from The Park's west entrance......we have soon set up camp and are ready to "rock and roll" once again...
First full day in The Park and as it's Sunday and busy at the entrance we decide against the main Geyser/Old Faithful area and drive instead to The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone passing a Bison "Jam" on the way.....
Beryl Springs...
Yellowstone has thousands of hot springs and geysers, it is in fact one big boiling pot waiting to erupt  !!
Lower Falls of The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.....and it's fabulous.....it was a third mile walk and although a 600ft drop in elevation to get to the top of the falls it was so worth it even though as we are at elevations in this area of 9000 to 10,000ft we had to rest a couple of times on the way back to the top !!!
2.2 million gallons of water a minute tumbles over the edge of the 308 ft drop.....the power and noise are truly awesome...
We have seen this photo often on posters and thought it to be photo-shopped but this is for real....this pic is taken from the falls area of the Yellowstone River flowing through the Canyon...
After our climb back to the parking area we spy an Osprey's nest, complete with baby, on a pinnacle of rock below us....
The Yellowstone River churning round to the Upper Falls........
The Upper falls taken from above....
Next two pics the Upper Falls taken from a viewpoint on the North Rim drive......
Well our first day in Yellowstone and already amazed at this incredible Park...can't wait for tomorrow and more wonderments.....
