Billings, MT to Missoula to Columbia Falls......17th to 20th July 2014

Early alarm this morning as a long drive along the I-90, I'm kept amused by the train activity......
We were warned of steep climbs going through Homestake Pass (elevation 6393 ft and again on The Continental Divide) by a fellow camper but all fine and have had worse.....the closer we get to Missoula the landscape changes to mountains and very "Alpine".....

And another of many !!!!
We arrived at Jim and Mary's Campground and a lovely surprise one of the best we have stayed at...the second day of our stay this is the sun hiding behind a layer of what turns out to be smoke. There are many wildfires in Canada, Idaho, Washington and Oregon, the wind is blowing the smoke our way....no worries I was going to the mall anyway !!!
Missoula is a nice town, a good stopping off point for us....we had a top up of vegetables and salad at the Saturday morning Farmers Market in the old Historic District....
Jim and Mary's RV Park.....beautifully landscaped garden areas at each site, very unusual....lovely owners, spacious sites,
You never know what you will get even after reading the reviews, as the man said "life is like a box of choc-o-lates".....
This campground will certainly get a great review from us....,.
And now hitched and heading North on the 93....this is one of the many animal bridges in the area....
It's a very scenic drive past Flathead Lake to Columbia Falls and our next campsite.....
But as we head farther north the storm clouds gather !!!!
On the radio during the drive up they had played Alan Sherman, Hello Mother, Hello Father....we are feeling it was very apt !!!
It's raining by the time we arrive at Columbia Falls RV Park but forecast is good for the week here at Glacier National Park
and it's another very nice campsite.....
Some folks might have thought we had dropped of the face of the earth as no posts for a while but all great here, we have had a very busy week, early mornings and long days but Glacier is a fantastic park and one of our favourites, when I sort the many photos I shall put up the posts...hopefully more soon from
The Very Happy Campers....
