Rancho Cordova to Yosemite......Friday 29th August....

We take our fond farewells of Pam and John and head south on US 99......interesting landscape, we hadn't realised that the term the Golden State is not about the gold rush but the beautiful gold colour of the landscape in summer...
On route we passed through mile after mile and acre after acre of not only vines, but almond, pecan, walnut and olive groves.....
Oh my.....this is the The Old Priest Road up to Groveland....we are not allowed on that road but ours is not actually a lot  less exciting...very narrow, winding and steep to 2000ft elevation at Groveland.....
Camp Harris at Yosemite Pines......we did have to stop off at a builders supply store and ask for directions...I (being the navigator) survived the scorn of the helpful assistant about not trusting our  GPS in "these mountains" !!!
Tomorrow Yosemite....for now a glass or two of grog...
Cheers from the Happy Campers...

  1. Hi Sue & Michael.
Appears that you had an enjoyable time with Pam & John, hope your parked rig outside their house did not cause too much of a stir.
Sacramento looked great glad you were able to sample some of the fine wines.
Enjoy Yosemite hope you had a bright start despite the grog.
We are off to Devon (Instow) tomorrow for a weeks rest and relaxation, will catch up with blog on return. I guess you will be thinking of your return home by then
    Have Fun.
    Cheers,
    Ann & Dave
